A Grower is a farm which is a customer of Supplant. Each Grower has his own context for data and definitions. A Grower owns physical sensors and optionally controllers. The sensors and controllers are defined in AWL and marked as belonging to a Grower.
A User is someone who has login access to AWL and is identified by email and password. A User has access to 1 or more Growers.
Sensor is a device installed in the field that sends measurements to the Supplant system. Sensors are organized in Sensor Set (typically gateway and several wireless sensors).
Controller is a device that can activate/control things in the field (e.g. irrigation controller). For each Controller there are 1 or more Actions defined. An Action is an activity that can be activated by a controller (e.g. open valve, activate foggers, etc.).
A Plot is a cultivated field (growing cycle) being monitored by Supplant. All the Supplant calculations are done in a context of a Plot. A Grower has 1 or more active Plots (under monitoring) and historic Plots (that are no more cultivated/monitored). A Plot has several characteristics such as name, soil type, crop, lat, long, etc. It also has start and end date (of being active).
Sensors and Actions are assigned to Plots. When Supplant monitors a Plot only data from the sensors assigned to it is being used and only Actions assigned to it may be activated.
Supplant does its calculations in a context of a Plot. When Supplant detects an issue an Alarm is set. An alarm has two states 1) Set (when issue discovered) 2) Cleared (when issue no longer exist). The Supplantsystem changes these states based on its analysis. When alarm changes state (Set or Cleared) an Alert is sent to Users of the Grower the Plot belongs to.
